There have been a whole host of shows with a comedic element relating to football. Whether it be Baddiel and Skinners covering of International Tournaments, impressions from the likes of John Culshaw, Alistair McGowan and Harry & Paul or features such as 2 Good 2 Bad, which used to be on Match of the Day. Would always look forward to Only an Excuse on Hogmanay, this is a long running Scottish sketch/impression show that takes the mick out of important members from Scottish football, the national team and other events in that years football. Also stereotypes and takes the mickey out the fans of the clubs, especially Celtic ones. Kevin Bishop's portrayal of David Beckham in Star Stories was hilarious, hope he does another football themed one in the future. The humorous puppet show, "I'm on Setanta Sport" is due to return to the screens. Check out the following tasters Here and Here . Very funny, Mourinho as host and it has a range of player/managers featuring and phoning in. Talksports channel is full of funny videos including masterfully edited interview clips. Not such a fan of theirs but youtube channel has some great vids and it is well worth checking out.
From Irish radio on the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, also a podcast. An impressions feature called Gift Grub I believe does these brilliant skits of players/managers. Only came across on youtube. If you like this one check out their other vids, especially of Mourinho. Impressions of both Keane and Beckham perfect in this as are the words, so clever.
A video made by a Barca channel that loves to take the piss out of Madrid. They make a-lot of vids and actors in are made to look and act like exaggerrated versions of the players. Obviously best enjoyed if you understand Spanish but addition of subtitles ensures they are easy enough to follow.
A fan made compiltion of moments on pitch with players, managers and officials alike. Features Sol Campbell's never ending slide tackle which is just brilliant.
One from talksport, particularly like the bit with Paul Scharner.
From Paul Whitehouse and Harry Enfield's sketch show, fully captures the international feel of the Premier League dressing room.
Another very well fan made compilation featuring moments from the past season.
Darren Farley made something of a name for himself for his fantastic, largely scouse based impressions of players/managers. In this clip he takes a look at what certain famous faces in the game would be doing if they weren't in football, features Rooney and Gerrard amongst others.
Pranks
Rio Ferdinand produced a range of windups on his fellow England teammates for the World Cup in 06. A football version of the popular American show Punkd. Surprisingly they still remain uploaded. Players featuring include A.Cole, Rooney, Crouch, G.Neville, Beckham and James. All are worth a look but favourites definitely the Neville one below.
Akin to the above is another off the pitch prank, really did get Coentrao good. Unfortunately not English but still easy to follow.
Featuring the one Chelsea fans adore, set up fantastically here.
